The Group Event Business License is in lieu of an individual transient merchant license. The promoter or sponsor of a group event, held on a private or public property, shall complete a Group Event Application for a Group Event Business License. A Group Event Business License application by the promoter or sponsor of the event is required for all transient merchants (exhibitors) participating in a group event, including but not limited to, food trucks, booth sales and flea markets.
The Group Event Business License fee is based on the anticipated number of participating merchants/vendors:
Tier | Number of Merchants |
Fee |
---|---|---|
Tier I |
1 to 5 merchants |
$200 |
Tier II |
6 to 10 merchants |
$400 |
Tier III |
11 to 15 merchants |
$600 |
Tier IV |
More than 15 merchants |
$1,000 |
Note: If a participating vendor already has a City of Beaufort business license (a restaurant, for example), that vendor is not included in the tally for the group license.
For example: If an event has 6 merchants, but one of them holds a current City business license, the event organizer would pay for the Tier I license of $200 representing 5 merchants.
