David Lunin's background in 18th-century American antiques has deeply influenced his furniture design work.
"I have a strong background in producing strict reproductions of important antiques," he says. "I eventually added my personal sensibility to timeless pieces by beginning with traditional designs and giving them a contemporary twist. Whatever I create, it is done with the same level of care and craftsmanship employed by Colonial furniture craftsmen. All my pieces are built with traditional joinery like hand-cut dovetails, and mortise and tenon joints."

Serendipity is a new boutique bringing fresh options for gifts and apparel to Bay Street in Beaufort. Serendipity was created by three teachers who, after collectively spending 35 years in the profession, decided to take a leap and make their dream a reality. Each member of the Serendipity team fell in love with Beaufort’s quiet waterfront beauty and ended up moving here permanently. Our goal is for everyone, regardless of age, income or size, to “accidentally stumble upon something beautiful” in our shop.
