BEAUFORT, S.C. (Jan. 4, 2023) – Dominion Energy has notified the City of Beaufort that it expects to begin its periodic tree-trimming the week of Jan. 10. This is likely to continue through February and will include neighborhoods that are bounded by Hermitage Road to the north, Ribaut Road to the east, Camellia Road to the south, and the Spanish Moss Trail to the west (see map below).
Dominion has begun the process of notifying property owners in the neighborhoods where it will begin the maintenance work.
Dominion does this work on a five-year rotating basis to ensure that tree limbs and brush are not impeding power lines, or don’t have the potential to create a dangerous situation with power lines.
Dominion said in its notification to residents that “over the next few months, Lewis Tree Service, Inc. will do the tree-trimming and brush-cutting work along with cleanup of trimming debris in yards following the routine maintenance. The cleanup work may be scheduled after the initial trimming is complete.”
Neal Pugliese, a project manager for the City of Beaufort, will work with Dominion during this project. The City has also contracted with arborist Michael Murphy to resolve on any disputes.
Dominion is not expected to work on weekends during this time.
The City of Beaufort will make every effort to announce the specific streets/neighborhoods that are to be pruned on its Facebook and Nextdoor pages.
Property owners can contact Dominion with questions at SCContactUs@DominionEnergySC.com or call 1-800-251-7234. Pugliese can be reached through his email, npugliese@cityofbeaufort.com.
