Public Information |
|
The Beaufort City Government considers open
government among its top priorities. The City Manager's Office provides
open access to public information and handles requests for such information
in a responsive, courteous manner.
|
The South Carolina Freedom of Information Act
provides citizens with reasonable access to public documents, with few
exceptions. In some cases, the City may require some time to process
information for your request, and a fee may be charged for large requests.
Items that the City maintains that are accessible to residents include, but
are not limited to, the following:
- Minutes of City Council, Boards, and
Commissions
- Comprehensive Plans and Other Planning
Documents
- City Budgets and Audits
- City Codes and Ordinances
|
The City makes every effort to respond quickly
and courteously to media requests. Any member of the media seeking
comment or information on City projects, actions, or policies should contact
the City Manager's Office.
Additionally, any member of the general public may contact the Manager's
office for information on City activities.
