Deputy Chief Clancy is a graduate of the Citadel and served as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps prior to starting his law enforcement career.  He completed the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in 1993 and was the J.P. Strom award winner for his class.  After serving with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, Clancy joined the Beaufort Police Department in 1997.  He is married with two children and is a graduate of the 220^th Session of the FBI National Academy.
