- includes Misc. Permit Application, Sub-contractor List, and Statement of Prime Contractor Form)

  • Additions, Renovations and Remodeling
    (must comply with current ICC ICC/ANSI A-117.1-1998, Fire, Building, Energy, Plumbing, Fuel Gas, and Mechanical Codes - Including the City of Beaufort's Flood and Zoning Ordinances)

    • Re-roof (commercial structures require an asbestos survey)

    • Parking lots (Handicap/Fire Lane Stenciling, Curb Painting, Signs and Placards, Car Stops, Restriping, Resealing, or Resurfacing - must comply with current Zoning ordinance.)

    • Windows (New or Replacements - must comply with current hurricane, zoning requirements)

    • Fences (New or Replacements - must comply with current zoning requirements)

  • Partial or Full Demolitions (see Demolition Packet below)

  • Electrician's Affidavit
    (To be signed by Electrician if electrical work is to be performed during renovations)

  • Subcontractors List Affidavit (for any subs you hire - they are require to possess a current temporary or annual City of Beaufort business license - See business license section below)

WHY HAVE CODES?

Inspections will reveal and confirm the below intended goals.

1. An environment free of unreasonable risk of death and injury from fires.

2. A structure that will withstand loads associated with normal use and of the severity associated with the location in which the structure is constructed.
3. Means of egress and access for normal and emergency circumstances.
4. Limited spread of fire both within the building and to adjacent properties.
5. Ventilation and sanitation facilities to maintain the health of the occupants.
6. Natural light, heating, cooking and other amenities necessary for the well being of the occupants.
7. Efficient use of energy.
8. Safety to firefighters and emergency responders during emergency operations.
