9 Holidays
 
The City observes the following holidays:
New Year’s Day January 1
Martin Luther King Day 3rd Monday in January
Memorial Day Last Monday in May
Independence Day July 4
Labor Day 1st Monday in September
Veterans Day November 11
Thanksgiving Day 4th Thursday in November
Day after Thanksgiving 4th Friday in November
Christmas Day December 25
And the day before or after Christmas as determined by the City Manager
 

When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be declared a

holiday for City employees. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following

Monday shall be declared a holiday for City employees.

 

A regular full-time employee who is required to work on an official holiday shall

be credited with eight (8) hours of vacation time in lieu of time off. However, for

overtime purposes, a non-exempt employee required to work on a holiday will

have that time recorded as time worked.

 

All regular full-time employees working twenty-four (24) hour shifts shall be

credited with (10.6) hours of vacation time on his record of leave, per holiday.
