Traffic Control and Building Maintenance


The in-house maintenance of traffic control devices allow for quick response during malfunctions caused by thunderstorms, accidents, or other disruptions of service. This insures the safe and continuous operations of traffic control devices. Traffic device problems can be reported directly the Beaufort City Police Department's non-emergency number (843) 524-2777. In addition, road hazards such as low-hanging or fallen limbs, downed trees, or debris can be called into this department by calling (843) 524-2777, (843) 525-7054 or (843) 525-7022.

The Public Works Department maintains its own fleet of vehicles and equipment. Complaints, concerns, or compliments regarding the operation, condition, or safety related issues involving the Public Works fleet may be called in (843) 525-7053 or (843)524-7054.
