In the spirit of excellence, integrity, and dedication, the Finance Department is committed to providing a timely, accurate, clear and complete information in accordance with General Accepted Governmental Accounting Standards; to support other city departments, citizens, and the community at large; to develop, implement and monitor fiscal policies and procedures that ensure a financially strong and effective city government; and to maintain a secure and reliable technological infrastructure.
The Finance Department is responsible for receiving all monies belonging to the City, paying all bills owed by the City when approved by the proper authority, depositing funds in a bank designated by City Council, make statements of financial conditions of the City as ordered by the City Manager, keep account of all monies and accounts and report to the City Manager, issue all licenses and perform other duties as may be required by the City Manager and City Council (City Ordinance Sec. 1-4033).
As such the City's Finance Department oversees a number of functions including:
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Central Cashiering
- Business License Activity
- Information Technology
