Traffic Court

Traffic Court sessions are scheduled on Mondays and Thursdays starting at 3 p.m.. Contact the Clerk's Office for specific information. Please have your ticket or warrant number ready when you call.

If you do not wish to appear in traffic court, you may post the bond amount of your ticket with the court. Please call the Clerk's Office to confirm the bond amount for your violation if you have any questions. Fines are due on the day of court.

You may pay in person at the Municipal Court Office at 1901 Boundary Street,. Personal Checks, Cash, and Credit Cards are accepted. The cashiers window is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

You may prefer to mail in your payment. Checks may be mailed to our administrative office.

Criminal Court

Criminal Court sessions are scheduled on Monday and Thursday of each week starting at 3:00 p.m. Failure to appear in this court may result in a bench warrant for your arrest.  Refer to your summons for your scheduled date and time or you may call the Clerk's Office at 525-7036.

Jury Trials

You have a right to a trial by Jury. This may be requested prior to the date of trial in writing, by fax, United States Mail, or personal delivery.

Jury Trials are held through out the year. You will receive notification of the date and time of your trial. Please ensure you have notified the Court of any address changes. 

Cannot Serve as a Juror?
If you are age 65 or older, a full-time student or primary caregiver for children under the age of 7 during the day, you may be excused. If you wish to be excused for other reasons, you must notify the court and provide proof if requested to do so.

Payment of Fines/Bonds

Payment for court fines is due on the day of court. Failure to pay fines result in suspension of driving privileges and a Bench Warrant being issued for your arrest. If your license was suspended, please refer to "License Suspensions." You may want to check with the Department of Motor Vehicles for the current status of your driving privileges. To inquire about a reduction of your fine prior to your court date, please call our adminstrative office at (843) 525-7036 and have your ticket ready. We will be happy to assist you with any questions you may have.

The cashiers window is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. We accept cash, money order, local personal check, and debit/credit cards (Visa and Mastercard only).

Parking Tickets

Downtown Parking is managed by Lanier Parking also known as Park Beaufort.  Parking is enforced Monday thru Saturday, 10am-6pm.
