Embracing the past...

Those visiting the City of Beaufort are struck by the charm of this small coastal community with its historic residential architecture, thriving historic main street, award-winning Waterfront Park, grand vistas, majestic live oaks, expansive marshes, and quiet Southern ambience. Residents and officials of the City of Beaufort are committed to keeping these qualities in place for future generations. The preservation and protection of the Historic Downtown District is an example of this commitment.
