Our treasured coastline...

Our sandy beaches and gentle rivers and creeks are what makes Beaufort such a tourism hot spot. Year-round pleasant temperatures provide a gorgeous backdrop for beach goers, fishermen, boaters, and those who just enjoy a relaxing day on the waterfront.

Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park

By far, Beaufort's most popular destination...this 7+ acre gem on the Beaufort River provides something for the whole family. Relax and watch the sunset in one of many swinging benches along the riverfront while the kids enjoy the playground.

Take time to stop into the shops and restaurants that skirt the park along Bay Street. These venues offer waterfront dining in the cool Carolina breeze.

Saturdays bring vendors and shoppers alike to the Beaufort Farmer's Market at the east end of the park.

Also on the east end is the magnificent Beaufort Downtown Marina, hosting vessels from around the world.

Hunting Island State Park

Miles of beach play host to hundreds of species of birds in this most popular of South Carolina's State Parks. Visitors engage in fishing, swimming, and camping in the park's year-round resort atmosphere.

Also available are mile of nature trails to explore this undisturbed treasure. These 5,000 acres provide ample opportunity for all of our visitors to enjoy the scenery.

Cabins are available for overnight stay. Be sure to visit the unique lighthouse, on of only seven in South Carolina still open to the public.

Hilton Head Island

One of the east coast's premier tourism destinations, this resort town has it all. Lavish hotels dot the coast line as do championship golf courses and fine dining and shopping opportunities.

The white sand beaches of Hilton Head provide that unique getaway opportunity for families and honeymooners alike.
