[ARCHIVED] Update on transition to Capital Waste Services

Wheelie bins Capital Waste Services

BEAUFORT, S.C. (June 22, 2021) –  Capital Waste Services, Beaufort’s new contractor for waste and recycling, has begun to deliver new waste and recycling bins to single-family homes in Beaufort.

Capital Waste is currently delivering bins to residents who have regular Monday pickup service. Throughout the rest of the week, the company will be delivering bins to people in order of the day of the week of their service – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. All bins should be delivered by early next week.

Waste Pro, Beaufort’s outgoing contractor, is continuing to pick up garbage and recycling this week. It also is picking up the old bins after they have been emptied of garbage. Because it is doing both things, garbage pickup may be a little later than usual this week.

Once they have their new bins, residents should use them. Beginning Monday, June 28, Capital Waste will collect residential trash. Recycling pickups will begin the week of July 5, and will be on the same day as the resident’s trash pickup.

NOTE: Earlier information released by the City said that Capital Waste would start service on July 1. That has changed. It will begin on June 28.

If there are any issues with garbage pickup next week, please call Capital Waste Services at 843-757-2722.

Commercial businesses

Commercial businesses in the City of Beaufort should call Capital Waste Services at 843-757-2722 to verify that the business in on the list to receive a new trash bin.
