BEAUFORT, S.C. (Aug. 26, 2021) – The City of Beaufort invites area residents to a ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 11, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States.
The ceremony, which will begin at 7 p.m., will be held at the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park. It will pay tribute to those who lost their lives in these attacks, and the heroes who saved the lives of so many people.
The ceremony will include music from the Parris Island Marine Corps Band and the Beaufort Mass Choir. USMC Col. Timothy R. Dremann, chief of staff at Parris Island Recruit Depot, will speak. Luminarias will be lit in the park as part of the ceremony.
Please bring your own chairs and blankets to the ceremony.
