BEAUFORT, S.C. (January 28, 2025) -- The City of Beaufort is requesting proposals from interested and qualified individuals to provide indigent legal defense services in the Beaufort Municipal Court. The non-mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 2 p.m. tomorrow Wednesday, January 29th in the Planning Department Conference Room on the first floor of City Hall.
The Sixth Amendment to the United States and South Carolina Constitution requires Municipalities to provide indigent persons charged with criminal offenses and facing the possibility of incarceration with a competent attorney who can provide effective assistance of counsel.

Questions are due by 4 p.m. on January 30th. Answers will be posted by 4 p.m. on February 4th.
Bids submissions are due on or before 2 p.m. on February 6th. A public bid opening will be held in the City Hall Finance Department, Executive Conference Room 2 at that time.
