BEAUFORT, S.C. (June 3, 2020) – The City of Beaufort has instituted new guidelines regarding public participation for its City Council and board meetings held via Zoom.
New guidelines
City Council and other agendas will include Zoom meeting links and IDs. Those who join the meeting via Zoom can make a statement via the “Raise My Hand” button on Zoom to be recognized.
In addition, for those who do not have a computer, or would prefer to listen by phone, a call-in number will be posted on all agendas. You will be automatically muted, unless called upon by Mayor Keyserling or the board chair. During the public comment section, or if called upon, you can press *9. When you are called upon, you will be unmuted.
For City Council meetings, the public is encouraged to email comments ahead of time to City Clerk Ivette Burgess, iburgess@cityofbeaufort.org. For all other board and commission meetings, comments can be emailed to Julie Bachety, jbachety@cityofbeaufort.org.
Finally, public comments can still be made via Facebook, as all meetings are streamed live on Facebook.
