BEAUFORT, S.C. (Aug. 4, 2021) –  It’s time to put another iconic Beaufort festival on your calendar! The 27th annual Beaufort Shrimp Festival will be held Oct. 1-2 at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park.

The festival will kick off at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 1. Atlanta vocal group The Tams will perform a free concert at 7 p.m. as participants enjoy the selection of food and beverages.

The Run Forrest Run 5K run/walk will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at the intersection of Bay and  Newcastle streets. The course will take participants to the various places in Beaufort where the movie Forrest Gump was filmed, including across the Woods Memorial Bridge. Participants can sign up here.

At 11 a.m. on Saturday, festivities begin at Waterfront Park with live entertainment throughout the day, shrimp races in the river by local Rotary Clubs, and programs about Beaufort’s ecology. Plus, restaurant tents will be open to allow visitors to enjoy the best and freshest shrimp dishes from local chefs!

Those interested in becoming sponsors of this heritage festival can email Ian Scott, president/CEO of the Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce, at ian@beaufortchamber.org.

Please check out the Shrimp Festival website here, which will be updated often in the next two months.
