BEAUFORT, S.C. – We just got the word that Santa’s elves are quite busy tying a big ribbon on the final details of Beaufort’s holiday season. Here are the details:
Saturday, Nov. 27: Start your holiday shopping with a trip downtown and throughout the City of Beaufort to support our merchants for Small Business Saturday!
Tuesday, Nov. 30: Join the Chabad Greater Hilton Head as we light a menorah at 5:30 p.m. at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park. Music and light refreshments will be served after the celebration.
Friday, Dec. 3
It all starts with Night on the Town from 6-9 p.m. Downtown streets will be closed, merchants and restaurants will be open, and the festivities will be going on! We'll also be hosting the annual Christmas tree lighting.
Saturday, Dec. 4
10 a.m.-4:30 p.m.: The Beaufort History Museum will hold a re-enactment at the Arsenal to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the New York Highlanders’ entry into Beaufort.
11 a.m.-4 p.m.: A Christmas Taste of Gullah will feature authentic Gullah cuisine and live holiday entertainment at Waterfront Park. This event is free and open to the public . As rice is a direct link between the Gullah culture, Africa and the African diaspora, a rice cook-off will also be held with attendees choosing their favorite dish.
5:30-8:30 p.m.: Light up the Night Holiday Boat Parade. If you are interested in participating, fill out this application, which must be received by Nov. 29.
Sunday, Dec. 5
3 p.m.: Christmas Parade. Want to be in it? Fill out this application and return by Saturday, Nov. 30.
And don’t forget: Free parking at the Marina parking lot from Thanksgiving through New Year's Day!
