BEAUFORT, S.C. (April 18, 2024) -- The City of Beaufort is hosting an informational meeting on April 26 to discuss the Downtown/Point Stormwater Drainage projects. The meeting will include brief presentations on the Bayard Street stormwater drainage project, and the Charles/Craven Street-Carteret/Port Republic drainage systems.
The presentation for the King Street project will only discuss the collection and conveyance systems. The King Street pump station and outfall design will not be discussed at this meeting. A second meeting will be held at 3:30 p.m. May 8 with project contractors Davis & Floyd covering the outfall, generator, and controls building. This will be followed by a special Work Session with City Council at 6 p.m. All meetings will include a question-and-answer session.
The design of these projects is now approximately 30% complete. The design teams will be able to present the projects, timeframes, and impacts to the community.
