BEAUFORT, S.C. (Sept. 23, 2024) – The City of Beaufort and the Police Department closed their administrative offices at noon today, so that maintenance work can be done on the chiller for both buildings. There will be no air conditioning during this work, necessitating the City closing early. City Hall and the PD will reopen for business at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
In the meantime, the City It Department continues to work with Sparklight (formerly Hargray) on a phone and Internet outage that is affecting City of Beaufort facilities and is widespread throughout Beaufort County. 911 service calls are not affected by this phone outage.
